Mumbai city has been witnessing heavy pre-monsoon rains for the

predict worst spell since July 26, 2005 in Mumbai. The reason behind such
rainfall is stated to be the cyclonic circulation persisting over South Konkan
and Goa region
Within the last 24 hours, Mumbai's Santacruz observatory
recorded 51 mm of rain, while Colaba observatory witnessed 15 mm rainfall, as
per Skymet Weather. The usual onset date of monsoon over Mumbai is June 10, however,
this time, it is expected to arrive a tad early at around June 8, it predicted.
“The period between June 6 to 12, could be the worse spell
since 26 July 2005, when Mumbai recorded 900mm in a day,” Jatin Singh, CEO of
Skymet, said in a tweet.
